How to Apply for a Bahamas Visa
Follow these steps to apply for a Bahamas visa:
- Contact the Nearest Embassy/Consulate of the Bahamas: Schedule an appointment for your visa application process.
- Complete the Application Form: Obtain the form from the embassy/consulate, fill it out completely, and ensure all information is correct. Use block letters and blue or black ink.
- Gather and Submit All Required Documents: Collect all the necessary documents listed in the “Bahamas Visa Requirements” section and submit them in person at the embassy/consulate.
- Wait for a Response: You should receive a response within 7 to 14 days.
Note: If you are a Bahamian citizen sponsoring a foreign friend or family member, you need to personally apply for a Bahamian visa at the Bahamas Consular Division in Nassau.
Bahamas Visa Requirements

Permanent Residence Permit for the Bahamas
To stay longer than five years in the Bahamas, you need a permanent residence permit. You must meet specific criteria to apply:
- Have been legally staying in the Bahamas for five years with a long-stay visa.
- Married to a Bahamas citizen for five years.
- Proof of living with a Bahamas citizen.
Upon approval, you must pay an additional fee of BS$250 for your permanent residence permit application.
